Goals & Aspirations
Last updated 07 November 2024.
Here is where I've posted my current goals and aspirations.
Check back periodically for updates.
My short term goals are:
1.) I want to take the Spanish language test(s) sponsored by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages that measure one's proficiency. I believe there's a speaking portion, a writing portion, and a listening portion I need to pass in order to prove I am an advanced level Spanish speaker/listener/writer. I want to be able to say I have completed all of the portions of this test by the end of this year, although each portion of the test requires a pretty penny to take, but we'll see if I am able to find the funds to make it a reality. If not, there's always next year.
2.) I want to be able to say I've read the Holy Bible cover-to-cover at least once in my life by the end of this year.
3.) I want to attend as many church services and NA meetings that my schedule will allow this year.
3.) I want to send my niece, nephew, and my niece's 2 half-brothers each a $50 check in their birthday cards, and drop them in a mailbox so they arrive in time for their birthdays this year.
4.) I want to choose a career path and finish at least one professional certificate program through Edx.org by the end of this year. The only thing that might prevent me from achieving this goal this year would be not having the funds to complete the program until next year.
5.) I want to volunteer to be an usher and/or an acolyte, and/or part of the Tuesday cleanup crew at the church my husband and I are members of at least a half a dozen times this year.

My long-term goals are:
1.) I want to reconnect with my family because family is very important. It is my hope that all of the people that have been near and dear to me in my life will utilize this web site in order to reach out to me so that we may maintain a strong, stable, and healthy relationship that will last well into the future. I've already started by handing out my current email address to members of my family and letting them know that I'd love to hear from them soon.
2.) I want to learn as much as I possibly can about the language, culture, and traditions of the people of this world. I want all of this learning to culminate in my being able to submerse myself in the cultures of this world. Walk a mile in everyone's shoes if you will. I am aware that this goal is very much a long-term goal as it will take me years, and years to learn the languages and customs of the people of the world. It would be a dream come true if I were able to travel the world to observe people and their cultures and traditions in person years from now.
3.) I want to be fluent in at least 3 different languages.
4.) I want to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary to Richard DelGatto. 5.) I want to complete a course in phlebotomy and travel around the world to the poorest, most war torn countries to administer life-saving medicine and vaccines to children that are in need.
